While registration for the Spring 2016 semester remains underway, students and the public are reminded that Arkansas State University-Newport will close at 4:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18 in observance of the holiday season, and re-open Monday, Jan. 4 at 8:00 a.m.
Returning students may continue to register online during the holiday closing, provided there are no holds on their account. Students with holds on their account, or new students wishing to enroll are encouraged to do so before the holiday closure.
Classes for the spring 2016 term begin Jan. 20. ASU-Newport’s course offerings include College Algebra, Physical Science, English, Biological Science, U.S. and World History, Chemistry, Business Law, Criminal Justice and many more. Courses are offered online as well as on all three of ASUN’s campuses in Newport, Marked Tree and Jonesboro. Technical programs include Welding, Nursing, Collision Repair and Refinishing, Commercial Driver Training, Computer and Network Technology and Diesel Technology.
To enroll at ASU-Newport, prospective students need to submit an application for admission, ACT/Compass scores, official high school transcript or GED score and immunization records.
