Our Collision Repair Team has been blocking and sanding the ASUN Hot Rod for 3 months. Our students have been working through other vehicles while working on the Hot Rod.
Throughout this process we uncovered several damaged portions on the Camaro, and have taken the time to restore this amazing machine to its original look and styling.
Check out the time-lapse that our video crew was able to get in the paint booth!
The video is the first round of primer, which was later blocked/sanded.
The photos below are "hopefully" the final primer before we paint!
Oh yeah, the CRRT team changed their mind on the paint colors. We're going with a Hot Rod Red base coat. It is a candy color, meaning it has a base under it that is reflective when you put a transparent top coat over the base. Then we'll paint the upper portion in deep gray tone, called Iridium. The transition line will utilize the Iridium base and Silver Marbled treatment similar to this video.
The final product will occur after our students return in Spring 2016!
