ASUN Announces the 2017-2018 Patron Series

Since 2004, the ASUN Patron Series has brought a wide range of entertainment to the ASU-Newport community. From B. J. Thomas, Ronnie Milsap, Clint Black and numerous stage performances like The Chinese Acrobats, Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol”, and the Arkansas and Memphis symphonies, have provided hours of audience pleasure. 
 
These performances have been made possible through the generous contributions of our Corporate Sponsors, Helping Hands, and Patrons who have supported the arts in Jackson County.  
 
The line-up for the 2017-2018 Patron series includes the follow acts:
 
Chicks with Hits – Terri Clark, Pam Tillis and Suzy Bogguss
October 26, 2017 at 7 p.m

Three girls, three Guitars, three stools, and over 30 top ten country hits. The hits include Suzy Bogguss “Hey Cinderella”, “Drive South”, Terri Clark’s “Poor Poor Pitiful Me”, “Better Things I Do”, “Girls Lie Too”, and Pam Tillis, “Maybe It Was Memphis”, “Shake The Sugar Tree”, and “Spilled Perfume”. You won’t want to miss this guitar-pull style acoustic show where Terri, Pam, and Suzy will come together and play your favorite hit songs from their legendary careers.

Jack Wright: The Songs and Stories of Neil Diamond
February 15, 2018 at 7 p.m.

A sophisticated, authentic performance of the hit songs that have kept Neil Diamond in the hearts of his fans for more than five decades. He captures Neil’s poetic expressions of wide-ranging emotions, and the eclectic mix of his varied musical styles. And it goes beyond the music with the sharing of stories about Neil’s life, and explanations of his sometimes complex and complicated lyrics. He interprets the songs the way Neil must have felt when he wrote them; he connects with his audiences the way Neil always has, while making the songs his own.

A tribute to one of the greatest vocal groups of all time, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, showcasing their mega-hits. Unlike other tribute acts, these performers are backed by a live band. Re-live the classic "Jersey Boy" sound and look, centered around Frankie Valli's vocal virtuosity, the group's tight four-part harmonies and crisp dance moves. You'll hear "Sherry", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Walk Like a Man", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You", "December (1963)", "Who Loves You", "My Eyes Adored You", "Silence Is Golden" (acapella) and "Let's Hang On!" as well as some other popular hits of the 60's.

 All concerts are held in the Center for the Arts at 7648 Victory Boulevard in Newport.
