ASU-Newport 2015 Summer Camp Dates Announced

NEWPORT, Ark. (6-2-2015) — Enjoy cool fun in the hot sun this summer as learning and fun go hand-in-hand at the 2015 ASU-Newport Summer Camps.  The college will hold two camps this summer, with both camps scheduled for ASUN’s Newport campus.

The summer camps get underway June 15-18 when students entering grades 4-6 attend Discovery Camp.  Students attending the camp will participate in activities that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), Theatre and Art, the Military and Leadership/Professionalism.  Activities will include laboratory exercises, research, computer software usage, scientific construction and activities related to health professions, art, foreign language, graphic design, history and renewable energy.

Discovery Camp will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day and the fee for the camp is $100 for the first child, and $30 for each additional child. Discovery Camp will be held in Walton Hall and registration is limited to 25 students.

ASU-Newport will also host a Real Deal camp for students entering the 10th grade.  The Camp will be held July 13-16 in Walton Hall on the Newport campus, and will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  The camp will focus on STEM, as well as Leadership/Professionalism, and is designed to introduce high school sophomores to the college learning environment.  There is no cost to attend the camp, but registration is limited to the first 25 students enrolled.
