Why ASUN? I chose ASUN because I feel right at home. It gives me a sense of comfort because the staff is so friendly and is always willing to lend a helping hand. They know you by name and care for you like their own. ASUN is a tremendous college and offers various programs and degrees that will prepare you for the next step. It is cost efficient for everyone, and there is always someone that will answer your never-ending multitude of questions. ASUN is very community oriented and always has different events to keep students engaged. ASU-Newport focuses on what is best for the student overall and strives to aid students in reaching their goals and fulfilling their dreams.

What is your favorite spot on ASUN? My favorite spot on the ASUN campus is the Hub. It’s a place to just chill, catch up on work, and get good food.

Why ASUN? When I was looking at colleges wondering which one would be right for me I applied to be an Ambassador. After they told me I got it I decided on giving it a shot and go to ASUN. I never would have dreamed I would have felt more at home and actually feel more like family than just another student I also had no idea that ASUN had such a big impact in our community, without ASUN many people would never be given the chance to go to school with a four year being so expensive and others being so far. And I wouldn’t trade my time here at ASUN for anything.

What is your favorite spot on ASUN? The student lounge in Walton Hall! It’s one of the great places where students can bond and play ping pong.

Major: Criminal Justice

Why ASUN? I chose ASUN because it is close to home, affordable, and I knew more people here. Starting out in college I wanted a place where I would be known by name and not just a number in a lecture hall. Going to school here, I am still with some of my friends from high school and I’ve made some new friends as well. When I get to my major classes, I will be able to study and more easily apply what I learn to the area in which I live, to help the people in my area. Someone wanting to attend college, either fresh out of high school or after taking some time off, should attend ASUN because it is easily accessible and affordable. Scholarships and grants are readily available and easy to obtain, you should apply for them. Also, you are more than just a number, you are a person. The faculty and staff treat you like a person. The overall community atmosphere at ASUN is like one big family.

What is your favorite spot on ASUN? I would have to say it is a close tie between the HUB and the Library. I love my food! I especially love the HUB’s crispitos. I like going to the library because I am a book worm. I enjoy reading and the library in general is a nice and quiet place to work on assignments and study.

Why ASUN? I chose ASUN because of the at-home feeling I got when I first walked through the doors during a tour in high school. Every faculty member that I passed that day, and even now that I’m a full time student, greets each person with a smile. That moment stuck with me and definitely helped me choose the right college. I highly recommend ASUN strictly because of the passion every teacher has for you to succeed. Nobody on campus is setting you up for failure, but instead they are supporting and cheering you on as you seek your degree of interest.

What is your favorite spot on ASUN? The library! I love the library because of the laid back atmosphere. I feel like I can potentially get a lot of work done without being disturbed.

Why ASUN? I chose to attend ASUN because its location is close to home and because of the affordable tuition. Now, as I am in my second year of college, I have come to learn that ASUN is unlike most colleges. All instructors and staff do everything they can to help students succeed. Some high school teachers who help students prepare for college and they advise students how colleges don’t care if a student succeeds or fails. However, I have learned that this is simply not true for ASUN. I would recommend, to anyone, to enroll at ASUN because the university is one that works hard for a student’s success. A student is more likely to succeed at a college with smaller class rooms and more one on one interaction with instructors, than at a large, expensive, four-year college.

What is your favorite spot on ASUN? My favorite spot on the campus of ASUN is the breakroom that contains a ping pong table. It is a great place to meet and hang out with fellow students and what better way to recuperate and refresh your mind before going to the next class?
