Board of Visitors
Members of the ASU-Newport Board of Visitors are selected by the ASU System President in cooperation and coordination with the ASU-Newport Chancellor. The Board of Visitors serves in an advisory role to aid in securing financial support, to make recommendations about the educational and service needs of the service area, and to furnish counsel and guidance. It will elect from its members a chairperson, a vice chairperson, and a secretary and will meet quarterly just prior to the meeting of the ASU System Board of Trustees.
Chris Glenn (President)

Chris Glenn is the Director of Engineering at FMH Conveyors in Jonesboro. Originally from Dexter, Missouri, Chris Glenn grew up in the agricultural industry. In 1992 he moved to Arkansas to pursue his education and begin his career. While working full-time, he obtained a Bachelor of Science from Arkansas State University in 1997, majoring in Manufacturing/Industrial Technology. He and his wife, Amy, have been married for over 21 years. They live in Paragould with their 16-year-old son, Preston, and 14-year old daughter, Paige, who are students in the Paragould School District. Chris has served on the ASUN Board of Visitors since 2017.
Brent Lassiter (Vice President)
Pro Ag Services, Inc.
Newport
Brent Lassiter owns and operates ProAg Services, LLC, in Newport, which provides agricultural consulting services to farmers across Arkansas. Brent graduated from both ASUN and A-State studying Agriculture Business. Brent is a lifelong resident of Jackson County and is married to his high school sweetheart, Mandi. They have two sons, Garrett and Eli. He and his family also operate a small farm in Jackson County. Brent has served on the ASUN Board of Visitors since 2017.
Tuesday Gaddis
Unico Bank
Marked Tree
Tuesday Gaddis is the Branch Manager at Unico Bank in Marked Tree. She is a native of Marked Tree and graduated from Marked Tree High School in 2006. Tuesday went on to continue her education at ASUN-Marked Tree, where she graduated in 2015 with an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Networking Technology. She has one daughter, Patsy. Tuesday has served on the ASUN Board of Visitors since 2020.
Mark Young
Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce
Jonesboro
Mark Young has been the President and CEO of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce since 2006. Mark also serves as President of Jonesboro Unlimited, an economic development organization. Mark received his B.S. in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from A-State. He has been a Certified Economic Developer since 1994. Mark served on the Governor's Economic Recovery Task Force and is past Chairman of the Northeast Arkansas Economic Development Coalition and the Arkansas Economic Developers. Mark is married to Mitzi. They have two sons, Adam and Alex. Mark has served on the ASUN Board of Visitors since 2021.
Jeff Sampson

Jeff Sampson is the co-owner of SBT Food Group (Subway) and Director of Operations for their five locations. They have one location in Newport and four in Southern Missouri. Jeff studied Business Administration at A-State and the University of Central Arkansas before becoming entrepreneur and owner of several small businesses in Northeast Arkansas. Jeff is a native of Newport and is married to his high school sweetheart, Lauren. They have two children, Jack and Luke. Jeff has served on the ASUN Board of Visitors since 2021.
Bryce Shelton

Newport
Bryce Shelton is the HR and Safety Manager at Arkansas Steel in Newport. He also serves as a youth minister at the Holden Avenue Church of Christ, and is President of the Joe and Helen Harris Foundation. Bryce holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, as well as a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Bryce was born and raised in Jackson County, where he currently resides with his wife, Lacy, and his two children, Jaxon and Rylin. Bryce has served on the ASUN Board of Visitors since 2022.
Nyesha Greer
Christ Academy Middle School
Newport
Nyesha Greer is the Principal and Founder of Christ Academy Middle School in Newport. She is also a Co-Pastor/Founder of the Seeds of Faith Fellowship, and serves on the Newport Economic Development Commission. Nyesha received her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Henderson State University and Master’s in Education Administration from Concordia University. In her spare time, Nyesha has authored and published several Christian books. Nyesha and her husband, Richard, have been married for 15 years. They live in Newport with their 12-year old son, Eli, and 11-year old daughter, Ali. Nyesha has served on the ASUN Board of Visitors since 2022.
