Program Overview

The Technical Certificate in Practical Nursing prepares students for careers as licensed practical nurses (LPNs). The program covers fundamental nursing skills, patient care techniques, and medical knowledge. Students learn to perform basic nursing procedures, administer medications, and provide patient education. The curriculum includes clinical rotations in various healthcare settings, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in patient care. Graduates are prepared to take the NCLEX-PN licensure exam and work in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. The program emphasizes patient-centered care, ethical practice, and effective communication, ensuring that graduates are equipped to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.

Fall Semester applications due on July 10th! 
Spring Semester
applications due on Oct. 15th

Applicants will be notified of acceptance via email 4 weeks after the application deadline. Click the link below to complete the application. You must complete this application in addition to the application for admission to ASUN.

Application Requirements

  • A minimum NEX score of 130 is required to be considered in the selection process.
  • Must submit an unofficial/official transcript reflecting grades for all prerequisite courses with the application.
  • Completion of all prerequisite courses with a "C" or better:
  • Composition I
  • Introduction to Nutrition
  • Math for Health Professions
  • Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab AND Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab OR Bodys Structure and Function
