Program Overview

The AAS in General Technology with a pathway to High Voltage Lineman Technology prepares students for careers in the utility industry. This program combines technical coursework with hands-on training to equip students with the essential skills needed to work safely and effectively as linemen. Students learn about power distribution systems, pole climbing, electrical safety protocols, and the maintenance and repair of high voltage lines. With a focus on safety and industry standards, this program is designed to get you job-ready for a high-demand, high-impact career.

Fall Semester applications due on May 15th!

TO GET STARTED: These items must be completed first. ·

        • Complete an online ASUN application at www.asun.edu
        • Submit high school transcript or GED
        • Submit ACT/College Entrance scores
        • Proof of 2 doses of the MMR vaccine
        • If applicable, a college transcript
        • Must include a copy of valid Arkansas Driver’s license (for insurance purposes you must have less than 10 points on your record).

A faculty member will reach out to schedule the following:

        • Interview with HVLT faculty
        • Complete a pole climbing evaluation (must be scheduled in advance)
